On the eve of 2022 and on behalf of the Federation, which represents journalistic organizations from Latin America and the Caribbean, FELAP President Juan Carlos Camano, from Argentina, extended his greetings to the members of the Cuba-based news agency, founded on June 16, 1959, to counter the big media monopolies that distorted the reality in Cuba and other countries.
“May the comrades of Prensa Latina receive greetings from FELAP a few days before the new year, in which we will once again overcome adversity by raising, as throughout the history of our continental organization, the flag of unity in the fight for social justice and for communication at the service of the vast social majorities,” Camano said in his message.
Founded on June 7, 1976, FELAP brings together more than 80,000 journalists from the region through more than 50 institutions dedicated to the study and practice of communication and journalism.
