The SPF report confirmed the complex epidemiological situation in the country, which forced its government to issue new restrictions on Monday, such as limiting the number of people attending outdoor/indoor events (2,000 people for indoor places and 5,000 for outdoor places), banning people from drinking and eating in cinemas, theaters and public transportation.
France´s complex health scenario is also seen in hospitals, to which 2,110 patients were admitted in the last 24 hours, in a context marked by the spread of the Omicron variant across the country.
According to SPF, 17,405 people are currently hospitalized, of them 3,416 in ICUs. Regarding omicron variant deaths, the SPF regretted 242, the second day in a raw reporting over 240 deaths.
Concerning vaccination campaign against Covid-19, the government reported that as many as 51,676,653 French people (76.6% of population) have been fully vaccinated, while 23 million have already received the third or booster dose.
