Venezuela reports new omicron variant cases

Caracas, Dec 26 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan health authorities remain alert after detecting two new omicron variant cases.

On Monday, President Nicolás Maduro reported two other omicron variant cases, so the country´s positive toll jumped to nine.

Assessing Venezuela´s vaccination campaign, maduro said that 87% of Venezuelans has been immunized, being on the way of reaching 90% before December 31.

President Maduro recalled that his country´s health authorities are pretty aware of the spread of omicron variant infections.

The Venezuelan leader urged his people to get vaccinated and took stock of the SARS-CoV-2 infections and Covid-19 cases.

Health Minister Carlos Alvarado, on the other hand, stated that a vaccination campaign with a booster dose will begin from January 3.
