Abril told Jit weekly digital edition that “2022 could be described as a year without large global multiple events or ‘bye’, but without a doubt we will have the possibility and the will to resume dissimilar competitions, which could not be held due to the Covid-19 emergency in the country.”
That plan contemplates holding provincial, national and international events in order to achieve the optimal preparation of our athletes for major competitions in 2023, such as the Central American and Pan-American Games, he added.
Of course, this call also extends to the main competition in the country: the National School Sports Games, scheduled for April, with the development of the Pioneer Cups, which must have foreign participation as always.
In addition, Abril alluded to the start of the 61st National Baseball Series in January 23, for which the organizers are finalizing the details, and the realization of traditional international events in several sports such as boxing, wrestling, judo, athletics, the Triathlon of Havana, among others.
