The statement underlines that “this dangerous incident” constitutes a direct violation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, Including Diplomatic Agents, and the Consular Convention between Russia and Ukraine. .
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that it is obvious that such a flagrant and unacceptable action was the result of the increase in Russophobic hysteria in Ukraine, fostered by hatred and hostility towards this country.
