Vigil against US blockade of Cuba to be held in Costa Rica

San José, Dec 23 (Prensa Latina) Members of solidarity groups with Cuba in Costa Rica will hold a vigil today in front of the United States embassy to demand the end of the US blockade.

In this way, the friends of the Cuban Revolution in Costa Rica will join the call made by the Puentes de Amor solidarity project to hold this type of demonstration in a number of cities of the world in favor of peace and against the blockade of the United States.

The National Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba, the Costa Rican Vanguardist Youth (JVC) and other solidarity organizations urge people to participate in this anti-imperialist vigil.

According to the JVC’s statement, published on Facebook, “imperialism is the fundamental enemy of our Latin American peoples, because in its desire for wealth and control it has exploited our countries with its political, economical and military measures.”

The young Costa Rican communists affirm that the youth must rise up and speak out against these abuses.

“Costa Rica is not the exception in the long list of countries affected by the impositions of the United States, nor is Cuba, thus our solidarity with (the Cuban people) and other peoples attacked by imperialism”, concludes the call of the JVC.
