Syria lived through a “decade of fire and terror” and it is not possible to speak of the end of the conflict until the foreign occupation of its entire territory ends, the deputy foreign minister said in an interview with al-Mayadeen television.
According to the diplomat, the hysteria of the enemies worsens every time the country approaches the final victory.
The West is settling accounts with Damascus because it has always opposed its projects in the region, he added. He clarified that Damascus never closed the doors to any objective US move towards Syria and considers that Washington lacks a realistic policy.
He accused Washington of continuing to manipulate the letter from the terrorist organization Daesh to serve its agenda and called relations with Russia and Iran a true alliance.
Regarding the Arab opening towards Damascus, al-Jaafari indicated that it was clearly reflected during a visit by Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan.
He highlighted in this sense that 14 Arab embassies are open here and minorities are opposed.
On the latter, he criticized that Saudi Arabia still implements a policy subject to the Western agenda, while Doha obstructs the possible participation of Damascus in the next Arab summit to be held in Algiers next March.
Syria did not leave the Arab League and is a founding country of the same and does not accept that any conditions be imposed on it to participate in its meetings, the deputy minister concluded.
