The fifth wave of the pandemic and the spread of omicron variant, which government forecasts will be dominant in a few days, complicate the epidemiological outlook, to the point that some restrictions could be applied again.
The complex scenario can be seen at the hospitals, where 16,118 people are being admitted, 3,147 of them in ICUs.
Other indicators showed the rise of Covid-19 in France, such as the incidence rate of 550 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and positivity of the virus diagnostic tests, about 7%.
Regarding deaths, Public Health France indicated 170 in the last 24 hours, so the country´s death toll jumped to 122,116 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
