After a container was sent by sea to eastern Cuba with medical supplies and medicines by the Dominican Government and several cargo planes were organized, another important donation is enlisted at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy.
According to Cuban Consul Rainer Garcia, more than 100 boxes, containing masks, sanitary gowns, isolation goggles, protectors, gloves, syringes and medicines, shipments from the Maximo Gomez Association of Cuban residents and the Dominican Campaign of Solidarity, specifically in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, are ready.
In addition, this shipment contains major contributions from the Latin American Network of Cooperativism and its different dependencies.
For those who make these contributions and give aid to their brothers in Cuba, the initiative also constitutes a way to face the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than 60 years, which exacerbates the difficulties to face to Covid-19, the diplomat noted.
Garcia told Prensa Latina that there is also an important donation in the hands of the Dominican Association of Teachers that is worth 16,000 dollars, which should leave for Havana soon.
