Under the slogan of “Biden, Unblock Cuba”, hundreds of people gathered in the emblematic enclave of the Basque Country on Sunday to enjoy six exhibitions on Cuba’s reality and take part in two concerts.
In addition, the activities included a round table, a theatrical performance, a musical boat on the Nervion River, a kalejira-conga and a concentration.
More than 130 people also gathered on the San Anton bridge, whose figure appears on the Bilbao city shield, to close the day with a flourish.
It was, on the other hand, an opportunity to remember the work of Cuban singer songwriter Vicente Feliu, who died on Friday and who had a close relationship with the Basque people due to his participation in numerous solidarity activities in this area of Spain.
His songs were heard in the Plaza de Bilbao la Vieja throughout the day. The “Kuba Eguna” festival is organized every two years by the Euskadi-Cuba friendship and solidarity association, in collaboration with the Cuban “Granma Landing” and “Sierra Maestra” emigration associations.
