An example of the effective implementation of this concept is the transformation program in Havana’s vulnerable neighborhoods and communities, which sets the priorities and distribution of resources based on the people’s criteria, he pointed out.
This requires the strengthening of spaces for participation in the construction of policies, their implementation and the monitoring of actions, for which it is crucial to give all power to the municipal People’s Power assemblies, the foundation of Cuba’s socialist democracy.
Diaz-Canel urged to guarantee transparency in information, as well as the constitutional duty of public servants to be accountable for their work.
At the parliamentary debate on the Economy Plan and the State Budget for 2022, the Cuban president highlighted the need for the productive reactivation process to be accompanied by actions to maintain the achieved control over Covid-19.
