The Intersecretarial Commission of integral attention in migration matters issued statements to the press reporting on the approval of a provisional plan of regularization alternatives, to be applied to 200 Haitian migrants early on.
The Undersecretary of Human Rights and Migration of the Secretariat of Governing, Alejandro Encinas, stated that the Commission met at the Foreign Ministry, where federal officials received the draft of the International Organization for Migrations and the UN Agency for Refugees.
However, the reach and content of the draft, as well as the alternatives granted by said agencies will remain unpublished for the time being.
According to Encinas, the draft consists in granting alternatives to Haitian migrants. The migration crisis affects thousands of citizens from a number of countries. Thousands have requested asylum in Mexico and many more are moving through the country with the idea of reaching the United States.
Nearly 15 thousand Haitians arrived in the country a few months ago, many of them coming from South America, where they had settled down. They concentrated in the border between Mexico and the United States and national and international organization demanded care and attention for those people.
