Israeli occupation responsible for violence in West Bank, NGO says

Tel Aviv, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli NGO Peace Now on Friday affirmed that the West Bank's occupation is the main cause of violence there, following the deadly attack, in which an Israeli settler was killed.

We share the grief of the victim’s family and we hope for the recovery of those injured in Thursday evening’s horrific shooting attack near the Homesh outpost, it stressed in a communique.

However, the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) stressed that Homesh is an example of the lawlessness afflicting the country.

That illegal outpost has been a source of violence for months, said Peace Now, which denounced the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) stance of ignoring the event.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls the Gaza Strip, affirmed that the death of the Israeli settler is a consequence of the occupation of Palestinian lands.

This action confirms that our heroic people will continue the legitimate resistance until the occupier is expelled, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said in a communique.
