Communist Party discusses Cuba's economic plan for 2022
Havana, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) is discussing the country's Economic Plan next year, a topic that is currently being debated at the 3rd Plenary Session of that political organization.

Deputy Prime Minister and Economy and Planning (MEP) Minister Alejandro Gil presented the plan to the members of the PCC Central Committee, chaired by First Secretary Miguel Diaz-Canel, president of the Republic.

In his speech, Gil referred to the adverse conditions that Cuba’s economy has faced in a year marked by the global crisis caused by Covid-19 and the intensification of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States.

He recognized the inflationary process in Cuba and advanced policies to address it.

Gil pointed out in this regard that it is vital to raise supply by increasing production, coupled with compliance with measures in commercialization and foreign trade. According to the PCC website, the minister elaborated on the creation of small and medium enterprises, the greater autonomy of the socialist state enterprise, people’s control, collective awareness and solidarity, as pillars for economic recovery and to deal with the rise in prices.
