The budget law through its provisions do not provide sufficient answers, organizers of the strike said in a statement, demanding concrete changes for workers and pensioners, along with the strengthening of “social and territorial cohesion”.
The struggle against job insecurity and in favor of steady jobs, particularly for young people and women, the implementation of equitable tax measures for low and middle-income workers, and a reform for a more flexible pension system are among the demands.
Unions also demand greater attention to the health and education sectors, new industrial policies to face the ecological and digital transition, as well as the intervention of the State to face the relocation of companies.
Protests include demonstrations in this capital and other cities like Bari, Milan, Cagliari and Palermo, organizing central unions indicated.
