The Cuban president welcomed Arce at the Council of State, where the official talks between the two delegations are taking place.
Moments before, the Bolivian president paid tribute to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at the Memorial that bears his name in this capital.
Arce placed a floral wreath at the foot of the marble sculpture of the Cuban Apostle. He was accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal.
Previously, the Bolivian head of State had visited the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), where innovative drugs are produced, including the Abdala vaccine against Covid-19.
President Arce also met with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, who ratified Cuba’s willingness to strengthen relations with the Bolivian people and Government.
Marrero pointed out that the meeting will make it possible to strengthen ties of friendship and consolidate relations between the two nations, according to the Presidency’s website.
“We reiterate all our solidarity to his people and country,” the prime minister said.
Arce expressed gratitude for the reception and assured that he felt at home.
“We also come ready to work to improve our relations and the lives of our peoples,” he said.
