The remains were found during a joint search operation conducted since past July, under an agreement signed by both respective governments back in 1988.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry and the US Embassy, as well as representatives of the permanent US office in Hanoi.
US side reiterated its gratitude for this new humanitarian gesture with which Vietnam proves its willingness to overcome the moral consequences left by the war.
This has been the delivery of remains number 157 after the end of the Vietnam war.
