The Cuban diplomat congratulated the United Nicaragua Triunfa Alliance, which heads the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, for their victory in the general elections on November 7.
“These results are a reflection of the work, continuity, effort, management and recognition of citizens for the work of their lawmakers and leaders of the Sandinista Popular Revolution (…) It is also a symbol of the trust and affection of the Nicaraguan people,” he said.
According to Mayo, the ties established between Havana and Managua guarantee the confrontation with the challenges, threats, sanctions and aggressions organized by common enemies, and ratify the continuity in the defense of sovereignty, independence and self-determination.
The Cuban representative thanked the Nicaragua-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group for its expressions of support, fraternity and communion of interests, and assured that the unity of Latin America and the Caribbean is the way to move forward in the face of the United States attacks.
On December 6, the new Cuban ambassador presented his style copies to Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada, who authorized him to carry out his work as head of the diplomatic mission.
