The institution has shown its professional dedication and sense of sacrifice during the Covid-19 pandemic, but also since its creation, Olga Margarita Agramonte, president of the Cuban Society of Hematology and Immunology, said.

The institute grew during the pandemic, because it created research projects and participated in others that gave rise to the possibility of having new therapies or treatments for patients with the disease, including children, the elderly and pregnant women, she said.

The acknowledgement confirms that it continues defending people’s health, the professor and assistant researcher added at Havana’s Convention Center.

Deputy Health Minister Tania Margarita Cruz, BioCubaFarma Tania Urquiza, the general secretary of the National Trade Union of Health Workers, Santiago Badia, and Hematology and Immunology Institute Durector Consuelo Macia, have reaped scientific and innovative achievements, while excelling in the training of specialists and other health professionals.
