According to the national head of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health of Cuba, Francisco Durán, a total of 538 people were diagnosed with coronavirus during the last week, for a total of 963,693 since March 11th, 2020.
The figures for the last week places the rate of positive cases in Cuba at 0.3 percent, with only four provinces reaching one percent in the indicator: Holguín, Camagüey, Las Tunas and Isla de la Juventud, Durán explained.
He explained that the incidence rate in the last week was 4.5 compared to 7.5 in the previous one.
He also pointed out that only a thousand people have been diagnosed in the first 11 days of this month, 51 of which were imported cases.
Durán also highlighted the drop in the number of positive pediatric patients during the last week (58 cases), for an average of eight daily confirmed.
Moreover, the specialist highlighted that four people died in the last week and eight have died so far in December, for a total of 8,313 fatal victims.
