Angola’s Jornal newspaper made the analysis on the subject on Monday based on a speech by the President of the Republic João Lourenço during a mass ceremony held last Saturday.
As Lourenço recognized, the prevailing situation in the country resulting from the pandemic prevents many citizens from buying the basic food basket for their families.
Meanwhile, the State continues to pass the responsibility of increasing business activity to the private sector, in order to produce goods and services, as well as generate jobs, the press review highlighted.
Despite the consequences of Covid-19 and the internal financial crisis from previous years, the State will maintain its responsibility to promote job creation by stimulating private sector agents, the article stated, alluding to the Executive’s position.
In the President’s words, he state will continue to carry out public investment actions, although, in most cases, it does not execute them directly. Even so, “they are his works, of his responsibility, so that there is a greater supply of energy, water, housing, health, education, roads, bridges and railways,” Lourenço stressed.
He also confirmed the decision to promote the preparation of basic infrastructure with a view to the construction of houses by the citizens’ own effort.
