(The United States) intends to “divide the world between allies of the empire and independent countries,” through the political instrumentalization of human rights and democracy, the president warned.
Maduro stressed that “we do not believe in the division of the world or in the escalation of conflicts, we believe in a (multipolar), multicentric world without hegemonies.”
The head of state advocated respect for the political diversity and identity of sovereign nations and revalidated his confidence in the emergence of a new humanity and a 21st century without empires.
Sacha Llorenti, Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), urged to remain alert to the use of the terms of “human rights”, “democracy” and “peace” to confuse the population.
“Those who speak in the name of peace and do not condemn imperialism are either very naive or are accomplices because the true struggle for peace is irreducibly anti-imperialist, anti-colonial, anti-capitalist and anti-patriarchal,” the official stressed.
