During a meeting held in Cairo, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reiterated to Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid Cairo’s willingness to promote a just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the two-state solution and international law.
This should bring security and stability to the region, in addition to opening horizons for cooperation and development, the president affirmed, according to a communique from his spokesman Bassam Rady.
During the meeting, Rady said, several issues of the bilateral cooperation were also addressed.
Earlier, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had urged his Israeli counterpart to resume peace talks with the Palestinians.
