Ethiopian army liberates three towns in Amhara state

Addis Ababa, Dec 9 (Prensa Latina) Federal forces expelled militias of the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) from Alem Amba, Meqdela and Goshemeda, and took control of those towns in Amhara state, the Ethiopian Government reported on Thursday.

The offensive against the terrorist group continues successfully, assured the Government Communication Service a day after the first phase of the Operation for National Unity in Diversity was completed, whose main objective is to liberate the occupied territories.

Also, according to the text, the federal army entered the cities of Hayk, Bistima, Basomale and Wichale on the Dessie front, and they are walking towards Mersa this Thursday.

On Wednesday, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed returned to Addis Ababa temporarily, after leading the war against the TPLF in the field of operations since November 23.

More than a year after the armed confrontation broke out on November 4, 2020, in Tigray, and later extended to the regional states of Afar and Amhara, the already huge figures of dead, displaced and material damages are growing every day.
