Iraq’s Hezbollah blames US for reviving terrorism

Irak-US-troops
Baghdad, Dec 8 (Prensa Latina) Iraq's Hezbollah blamed the United States for the revival of the terrorist actions, as part of a strategy to maintain its forces in the country, a communique released on social media stressed on Wednesday.

“The recent criminal acts and their escalation are in the tools of the Zionist-US-Saudi axis,” the text states.

The note alludes the recent attacks occurred in the regions of Diyala, Makhmour and Basra, with which the United States is trying to give the illusion that the withdrawal of its forces will compromise the country’s security.

An agreement between the Governments of Iraq and the United States stipulated that the Pentagon troops will abandon the Mesopotamian nation on December 31.

Only some 2,500 US military personnel will remain for training and advisory purposes.

The rejection in Iraq to the United States is evident due to the violations to sovereignty, included the assassinations in January 2020 of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Deputy commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
