¨The price of gas is very high. You probably know that demand is much higher in Europe than supply. There is a risk of a heavy winter. The storage capacities in Western Europe are at a record low level, so that´s why the prices are very high,¨ Waclawski said on the sidelines of the World Petroleum Congress in Houston.
Waclawski also estimated that gas prices will remain high till next spring.
Gas prices continue to exceed $1,000 per thousand cubic meters in recent months, reaching a historical maximum of $1,937 on October 6.
The congress also specified that gas prices have fluctuated $1,100 to $1,150 since December, and on Wednesday these prices exceeded $1,200 for the first time since October.
