Around 800,000 Sinopharm doses arrived in Kabul on Wednesday and Afghan government expects a new batch loaded with 200,000 more doses coming on Thursday.
While the new Chinese batch was handed over to Afghan health officials, Chinese diplomat to Kabul Wang Yu announced China will provide about $40 million in emergency aid, including vaccines, medical supplies, food, rice and winter coats.
Afghanistan’s Deputy Health Minister Abdul Bari Omar said pregnant women and Afghan children will also be vaccinated.
