President Biden threatens extreme sanctions if Russia invades Ukraine

Biden, Putin, videoconferencia, Ucrania
Washington, Dec 7 (Prensa Latina) President Joe Biden on Tuesday warned his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that the United States and Europe were prepared to impose nuclear economic sanctions against Russia should it invade Ukraine in a high-stakes video call.

The official statement -released on Monday after a virtual meeting- said Joe Biden expressed his “deep concerns” about the Russian military deployment on the border with Ukraine.

The US president claimed they would respond with imposing drastic economic and other sanctions in the event of a military escalation along the border.

According to the text, the two presidents entrusted their teams with monitoring the situation in Ukraine, which the United States will do in close coordination with its allies.

Moscow repeatedly rejected its forces are about to begin a military action in Ukraine, an idea used to generate fear, and has said its troops move through their own territory for purely defensive purposes.

US-Russia dispute is so worrying that even a few days ago the antiwar.com website warned about the possibility that a riot in actions could lead to a full-scale confrontation, including the World War III.
