The criminal group committed atrocities against many unarmed and innocent people, including children and women, in Gashena, Antsokia Gemza and other regions it invaded, official Spokeswoman Selamawit Kassa denounced in a news conference.

In addition to the horrendous crimes, she said, the terrorist organization looted public infrastructures, private facilities and several tourist attractions.

In total, she explained, at least six religious sites, two cultural institutions and 22 tourist service-providing organizations have been badly damaged and it will cost the country a lot to restore them properly. All those barbarities were revealed after forces under the command of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed liberated the areas and several mass graves were found at the sites where the TPLF perpetrated the killings, she said.
