Speaking via video link at the third ministerial meeting of the China-Celac (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) forum, the president called for joining forces in the face of global turbulence and to accelerate economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
He called on the nations of that region to join a global development initiative recently proposed by Beijing and seek opportunities to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
He also valued China and the countries of the subcontinent as partners who base their exchanges and relations on the principles of equality, justice, and peaceful and common progress.
The third ministerial meeting of the China-Celac forum is taking place this Friday headed by Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Mexican counterpart, Marcelo Ebrard.
China expects initiatives to emerge from the meeting and enhance the level of cooperation in the three coming years.
