Kabul, Dec 2 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of 16 countries pledged to send humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, according to a communique released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian country on Thursday.

An Afghan delegation led by acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met in Doha, Qatar, with delegates and ambassadors of 16 countries, among them Germany, Canada, Finland, New Zealand, Italy, South Korea, the European Union, Spain, the United States, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Australia, the United Kingdom and Japan, The Khaama Press informed.

The document issued by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting focused on security, humanitarian, economic, political and health-related issues.

The meeting came a day after the Afghan delegation conducted two-day talks with a US delegation led by special envoy Thomas West.

Since the Taliban’s takeover in Kabul in mid-August, Afghanistan is facing a humanitarian crisis and is in desperate need of international assistance.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan said that his country could allow Indian wheat to enter Afghanistan through the Wagah and Torkham border crossings.
