Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin also repudiated the interference in the internal affairs of other nations and the imposition of punitive measures under the pretext of freedom, democracy and human rights.
“We strongly support the efforts by the Cuban Government and people to defend national sovereignty and social stability,” the official commented.
He advocated prioritizing mutual respect, justice and common ground among the different countries of the world, urged the United States to lift the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba once and for all and to normalize its ties with adherence to the purposes of the United Nations Charter.
On other occasions, China has denounced that this policy is considered the main cause of shortages and an obstacle to development in Cuba, but Washington maintains it in force and intensifies it in spite of the majority vote of the international community for 29 consecutive years in favor of its immediate end.
