Destabilizing plots in Bolivia denounced in Cuba

Havana, Dec 1 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian Ambassador to Cuba Eduardo Pardo on Wednesday denounced the plots by his country's right wing to subvert the democratic process resumed after the victory at the polls of the Movement towards Socialism (MAS).

He pointed out that the Bolivian agribusiness oligarchy is trying to make the measures promoted by President Luis Arce’s government since the end of 2020 to rescue the rights of the population, boost the economy and guarantee justice for those affected by the coup d’état perpetrated against the Evo Morales government fail.

They resort to lies as a political tool to discredit Bolivian authorities and impose impunity on those responsible for kidnappings, murders, assassination attempts and the repression unleashed after the coup d’état in 2019, he pointed out.

In the light of these attacks, the people are determined and have the absolute conviction of the urgency of defending democracy and justice, said Pardo when exposing the current situation in Bolivia to the diplomatic corps accredited in Havana and his fellow countrymen.

Proof of this is the march led by more than one million people, who traveled some 200 kilometers from Oruro to La Paz to support Arce and the process of change that is taking place in the nation, he stressed at the headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).

It meant that the plan for the economic and social development of MAS, recently approved, has 10 main axes focused on reducing poverty, creating jobs, maintaining the economic growth, achieving food sovereignty and guaranteeing the efficient exploitation of the nation’s resources.
