According to the latest report from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), incidence in the last seven days is of 452.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, which shows a slight decrease in relation to 452.4 reported last Monday.
The total number of cases in the country reached 5,836,000, of which 842,100 remain active. Deaths from the disease amount to 101,344, RKI reports.
In Germany(83.24 million inhabitants), 71.2 percent of the population is vaccinated, from them 68.4 percent with the full plan and 9.2 million got a booster dose, figures that the Government considered still insufficient to control the pandemic.
In this sense, Foreign Minister, Helge Braun, warned this Tuesday that some 15 million adults are not yet vaccinated, even though, many consider that mandatory vaccination is the correct way to avoid further restrictions.
Braun added that Germany has reached a situation that always wanted to avoid with a regionally saturated health system, for which ‘pulling the emergency brake’ becomes necessary.
