Ms. Wissell also stated that it was to be expected Omicron variant would also be found in Sweden, since it has already been detected in other European nations.
The first European country confirming an Omicron case was reported over a Belgian woman who traveled to Egypt and visited Turkey.
UK Health Ministry reported on Saturday about two Omicron-infected people in Essex and Nottingham.
Concerning Germany´s Health Ministry, it was confirmed two Omicron variant cases, travelers who arrived in Germany from South Africa on November.
Other European nations such as Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Finland have also reported possible Omicron cases.
