The office indicated that although shipments were 4.2 percent smaller compared to 2020, revenues increased 5.4 percent thanks to an increase in international prices.
Main buyers were the European Union ($ 769 million) and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ($ 259 million).
Second largest world coffee exporter after Brazil, Vietnam supplies coffee to more than 80 countries and sales represent just over 14 percent of world sales.
Cultivation, production and marketing have grown dramatically in the last three decades: in 1991 their supplies to the world market only accounted for one percent of the total.
