Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani emphasized that the talks scheduled for next Monday in Vienna, Austria, must guarantee full compliance with what was sealed in 2015.
The lifting of sanctions and assurance that a future US Government will keep its word are the keys for the success of those negotiations, he said.
According to Bagheri Kani, US President Joe Biden is repeating the same mistakes of his predecessor, Donald Trump, with a failed maximum pressure policy against Tehran.
Since Monday, November 29, Iran and the signatories of the JCPOA (the United Kingdom, France, Russia and China, plus Germany) will resume talks aimed to the return of the United States to the pact it abandoned in 2018.
Those talks, which started in April, were put on hold in June pending the Iranian presidential elections, in which Ebrahim Raisi won.
