Speakers from over 20 countries participated until this day in a space focused on the world development agenda in research “establishing a record of participants and presentations from all the continents of the planet,” Amílcar Cruz, President of the Organizing Committee, told Prensa Latina.

The Convention platform allowed academics to exchange experiences, in addition to signing agreements between universities in Spain, Brazil, and Mexico, “a remarkable advance for science to lead the way for the development of nations,” said the academic.

A total of 12 symposia were scenarios for conferences and specific debates, with topics such as studies to face the health crisis, artificial intelligence for the benefit of society, and science management.

Food sovereignty, energy efficiency, tourism and other sectors of the economy also entered the dialogue during these days at the patrimonial Santa Cecilia Convention Center, in a meeting that was also sponsored by specialists from the Cuban Academy of Sciences.

Local experts pointed out in the conclusions that the II International Scientific and Technological Convention looks to the future from Cuba, a country that is committed to research as a primary path for development, in line with the call of the leader of the Antillean Revolution, Fidel Castro.
