Fidel Castro honored in Japan with virtual conference

Tokyo, Nov 26 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of Cuba and Japan paid tribute to Fidel Castro with a virtual conference that addressed several current issues of the Caribbean nation, diplomatic sources reported today.

The Cuban embassy here said the meeting brought together officials from the island and more than 60 delegates from various Japanese sectors, including academics, businessmen and members of solidarity organizations.

The meeting was organized together with the Cuba Study Room and Ambassador Miguel Angel Ramirez detailed the participants on the development of the island’s own vaccines against Covid-19 and the progress of the immunization process.

He also referred to the progress of the economic transformations that have taken place in recent months, particularly the creation of micro, medium and small enterprises (MSMEs), and the relations with the United States.

The participants asked numerous questions on aspects such as the reopening of international tourism and the functioning of MSMEs.

This activity joined hundreds of initiatives carried out in Cuba and in different parts of the world to remember the imprint of Fidel Castro, in the context of the fifth anniversary of his death.

The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution passed away on November 25, 2016 and his death moved millions of people around the world because he achieved a solid international projection while leading his people.
