In the Playa (Beach) People’s Council, one of 16 local communities that are benefiting from differentiated attention as part of the comprehensive support plan, the president reflected on the relevance of citizens’ control over the improvement actions that are taking place.
The government strategy establishes the priorities based on local proposals, and requires the supervision and people’s participation in these areas in the work to raising their living standard.
Diaz-Canel’s journey began in ‘Plaza de las Banderas’ (Flag Square), in the Peñas Altas council, where there is a mural monument featuring the world’s largest Cuban flag.
