Since March 11, 2020, Cuba has accumulated 961,458 contagions and 8,299 deaths, so the lethality rate is 0.86 percent, Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), informed.
In his regular press briefing on television, Dr. Duran noted that by age group, 18 of the new patients are under 20 years of age, 38 are from 20 to 39 year-old, 73 are from 40 to 59 year-old, 53 are reported with 60 and older.
The usual report published on the Ministry’s website shows that 4,344 patients are in hospitals or homes, 3,014 of them are Covid-19 suspects, 172 are under surveillance and 1,158 are active patients, 1,122 of whom are clinically stable.
The expert said that 36 Covid-19 patients are being treated in intensive care units in hospitals, 10 of them are in critical condition and 26 are seriously ill.
He added that 284 patients were discharged from hospitals, so the number of recoveries rose to 951,944 since 2020, accounting for 99 percent.
