Prior to his visit to Russia, the head of the Palestinian National Authority told Sputnik news agency that he plans to discuss with the Russian president the steps to be taken to activate the political process over his country.
In addition, Abbas expressed confidence that he could count on Moscow’s support for the organization of an international peace conference under the auspices of the Middle East Quartet, consisting of the United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations, in accordance with international resolutions.
