At least 21,159,186 voters are called for these elections, during which 3,082 posts will be elected, among governors, mayors, legislators to the municipal and legislative councils, and to which more than 70,000 candidates from 34 national parties, 52 regional parties and a score of indigenous organizations will participate.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) announced on Saturday that more than 30,000 polling stations are ready in 14,000 centers across the national territory.
For his part, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino has repeatedly stated that the entire security operation is guaranteed for which 362,000 military and State security forces have been deployed.
More than 300 observers from 55 countries are present as guests, they are grouped in four observation missions, four delegations of observers and two groups of experts who will verify the elections.
On Saturday night, President Nicolas Maduro highlighted the strength of the country’s electoral system and stressed that the Venezuelan people will give a demonstration of democracy in these elections.
