The surrender of the armed men took place within the framework of a reconciliation and pacification process launched on November 14 and includes the amnesty of all fugitive and irregular soldiers who surrender their weapons to authorities, SANA news agency reported.

Among those pardoned are members and commanders of so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (FDS), which is supported by the United States.

A similar process was recently implemented in the province of Deraa, in southern Syria, where nearly 8,000 citizens were pardoned, including armed men, fugitives and deserters who voluntarily surrendered their weapons.

The Syrian Army implements policies based on reconciliation to restore the normal status without resorting to military operations that could result in material and human losses.
