In the same period, 48 deaths were reported, bringing the country´s total death toll to 133,131 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Likewise, the number of active Covid-19 cases jumped 137,130 to 143,401, of which 4,762 are in recovery rooms (105 more than reported on Friday), and 512 in ICUs.

On the other hand, a study by the Higher Institute of Health (ISS) whose results were published on Saturday, indicated that the toll of Covid-19 deaths in unvaccinated people in Italy was seven times higher than those already immunized.

In the most recent edition on the pandemic progress, based on data collected from Oct. 8 to Nov. 7, ISS said the rate of unprotected deaths was six times higher than in those vaccinated six months after completing the cycle.
