Communists from Belarus and Cuba exchange on national challenges

Minsk, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) Leaders of the Communist Parties of Belarus and Cuba exchanged via videoconference on the achievements and national challenges faced by both political organizations, Cuban diplomatic sources reported.

The representation of Cuba was headed by the member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the PCC and head of its Ideological Department, Rogelio Polanco, who updated his counterpart on the intensification of the measures of the US blockade against Cuba.

He also spoke of the latest attempts by Washington and its acolytes in Miami and Cuba to destabilize the situation in Cuba through subversive politics and using hybrid means of war, such as the use of social networks and Internet messaging services.

The Cuban delegation offered details on the results of the 8th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party, the measures to implement its agreements, as well as the results of the fight with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus for Ideological Work, Sergei Syrankov, addressed the migration crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border, and stressed that the administrations of neighboring states, in particular Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, counting on the support from their sponsors in the United States and the European Union, have launched into a confrontation against Minsk.

Syrankov denounced that the provocative actions of Poland, which used riot equipment (water cannons, stun grenades, etc.) against unarmed civilians, can be considered an act of aggression against Belarus and are aimed at inciting a military escalation of the conflict.

Cuba and Belarus ratified their mutual solidarity against Western interference in the internal affairs of sovereign States.

Senior officials from both political organizations and the Cuban ambassador to Belarus, Juan Valdés, participated in the videoconference.
