Cuba and India reaffirm will to strengthen bilateral relations

Havana, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and Indian ambassador in Havana Sarvesvaran Janakiraman have reaffirmed their countries´ will to strengthen two-way ties during an exchange at Cuba´s Foreign Ministry (MINREX).

Both representatives have ratified the historic ties of friendship between both nations, according to a message posted by the Cuban Foreign Minister on Twitter.

Likewise, it was endorsed the interest in strengthening economic, commercial, financial and cooperation relations in sectors of mutual interest.

Havana and New Delhi maintain close ties marked by momentous events such as the two visits by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro to India in 1973 and 1983, as well as a high level of agreement on different issues.

In 2018, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind officially visited Cuba for a two-day stress-load time, including a meeting with his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudes.

Likewise, three legal instruments to expand the exchange in traditional medicine and biotechnology sectors were signed.
