In a phone conversation held on Monday, the two leaders also talked about the nuclear power plant that is being built with Russian technology in the northern region of Dabaa, the first of its kind in Egypt.
The facility, which will start operating in 2026, will have four VVER-1200 pressurized water nuclear reactors, each with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts.
El-Sisi and Putin also exchanged views on the establishment of a Russian industrial zone, in eastern Port Said.
The Egyptian leader highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries that led to the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in October in 2018.
