The diplomatic headquarters in Spain’s second city was the target of numerous harassment actions and provocations against its personnel in recent months, which required the intervention of the authorities.

Reliable sources showed today to Prensa Latina photos and videos of citizens who gathered early in the morning with Cuban and July 26 flags “to protect the Consulate” and show their support to the Island.

The day before, the platform Defensem Cuba de Cataluña denounced in a press conference “the interferences against Cuba, mainly from the United States”, and called for gathering around the Cuban diplomatic office in Barcelona for tonight at 19:00 local time.

According to the group, at the meeting they will express their support for the people of Cuba, “their independence and their right to freely decide their future without interference”.

They will also reiterate the demand for the end of the U.S. blockade and the permanent hostility to seek the overthrow of the Revolution.

The Cuban consular facility was also today the center of provocations by small groups of people, most of whom withdrew when they saw the mobilization of support in the area.
