“I am very pleased to hear the news that Cuba managed to vaccinate so many people in such a short time,” Weir said, who is one of the directors of Unite, the largest trade union center in the United Kingdom, on occasion of the Solidarity Campaign with Cuba.
Weir stressed that having vaccinated more than 70 percent of the population, Cuba will be able to begin to regain normalcy.
“Very well done, Cuba!” Weir said, and also called to congratulate the Cuban medical personnel for the effort.
According to data released on Friday by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, 7,967,430 people, equivalent to 71.2 percent of the population, have already completed vaccination cycle, which consists of three doses, while 90 percent have at least one dose.
